SBS (Styrene-butadiene-styrene) origins from Polystyrene with the combination of Polybutadiene. This combination results in tough yet flexible filament. It is not however as flexible as TPU, although more flexible than PETG. 

 

SBS has good layer adhesion and does not give off an odour when printing. 3D printing filaments are often subject to a certain level of hygroscopicity. SBS does not absorb moisture and therefore degrade as a result of moisture absorption. 

 

FIL-X SBS is easy to print and another advantage of SBS is it can be smoothed using d-limonene. 

 

Print temp :195 - 215 degrees 

Heated Bed : 60 degrees

SBS

I Picked up a roll from Da Vinci Lab this morning.
First attempt on Ender 3 V2: Benchy disconnected from the glass
second attempt with adjusted first layer squish: same thing
I decided to try printing on our Raise3d Pro2 Plus because it has a buildak bed.
This worked better but the print broke in my hands.
so on my fourth attempt I used no fans and placed the lid on my printer.

BASICALLY, I will use SBS instead of PETG.
It prints better, and prints well on a standard PLA profile with no cooling fan
I notice the bridging isn't that great but its probably due to no cooling fan, and that can fairly easily be tuned in slicer.
Either way, there are Trade offs in all things and this filament Has great potential!

Very interesting filament

Very interesting properties. Rigid with some flex. Great for applications that might be subjected to impacts.
Print it hot with little to no fan. Found glue stick held much better than the recommend hair spray. Definitely has a place in my filament collection

This is wat I always wanted

Printing SBS gives beautiful strong flexible prints with no stringing. This is what I always wanted: Stiff enouth to make an enclosure, but flexible enough not to fear that it will break when you click the two halves together and not shatter when it is dropped.
