SBS (Styrene-butadiene-styrene) origins from Polystyrene with the combination of Polybutadiene. This combination results in tough yet flexible filament. It is not however as flexible as TPU, although more flexible than PETG.

SBS has good layer adhesion and does not give off an odour when printing. 3D printing filaments are often subject to a certain level of hygroscopicity. SBS does not absorb moisture and therefore degrade as a result of moisture absorption.

FIL-X SBS is easy to print and another advantage of SBS is it can be smoothed using d-limonene.

Print temp : 210 - 235 degrees
Heated Bed : 70 degrees
Cooling: Low or off
Weight: 1kg

*Please note that FIL-X have gone box-less and new FIL-X stock will NOT be shipped with a FIL-X box. (Old stock will be shipped in the FIL-X box)

FilX SBS used on model aircraft

Fil-X SBS is an awesome material - relatively light with SG of 1 - prints easily and smoothly on glass bed with hairspray to ensure adhesion. Nozzle 250deg C / 65 to 70 deg C bed, no fan, print speed 25mm/s works best on my Ender 3 Pro to achieve strong 1 wall surfaces.
Used this in conjunction with Fil-X Wayless PLA for lower mass of less stressed parts.

Amazing material!

Very easy to print. Fantastic finish. Very tough in comparison to PLA but easy to print.
Easier to use but stronger the PETG with more flex!
The filament is mildly flexible (which is the benefit of SBS) so be careful of excessive retractions when slicing your model. With a Bowden tube setup I have had filament breaking due to my model/slicing settings.
Print HOT and SLOW. Finish is worth it!

Beautiful when perfect

When you get this dialed in it is an amazing, but getting consistent layer adhesion can be difficult, new formulation seems to want to print at 240+. I am printing slow and hot. No Fan. Mostly enclosed.

This stuff is awesome like pla just a bit flex to it
